Towards the end of the bee case

In a judgment dated September 2, 2010, the Investigating Chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeals upheld the full dismissal rendered on January 30, 2009 by the investigating judge of Saint-Gaudens in the so-called “bee case” that involved the company BASF Agro and Regent TS, a seed-coating product accused by associations of bee keepers and the Confederation paysanne to be the cause for the increased death rate observed among the bee population in France. This decision is the outcome of seven years of litigation. Civil parties have lodged an appeal before the Cour de cassation (French Supreme Court). BASF Agro was defended by Jean-Luc Soulier
