Two prestigious appointments for two former members of Soulier Avocats

We are pleased and proud to congratulate Jean-Paul Vesco, Archbishop of Algiers, on his elevation to the rank of cardinal on next December 8 in Rome, and François-Noël Buffet, appointed French Minister for Overseas Territories on September 21.

After years in which several of our former colleagues have distinguished themselves, either by becoming judge or by serving as President of the Lyon Bar Association, we are honored to witness two prestigious appointments in just one monthfrom mid-September.

First, François-Noël Buffet, a former associate of our firm and Senator for the Rhône region, was named French Minister for Overseas Territories on September 21.

Then, we learned, on Sunday, October 6, of Jean-Paul Vesco’s appointment as Cardinal, a title he will officially receive when he will be “created” (as the official term goes) on December 8 in Rome.

We truly rejoice in the etymological sense of the word and fondly wish our former colleagues great success in their respective endeavors, both for our country and for the Church.

André Soulier, Esq. Member of the Lyon Bar
